The unique and storied Old Bell Hotel has been welcoming travellers since 1220. This historically significant property is the oldest purpose-built hotel in England. Refurbished in 2021, this Grade I listed property is the perfect blend of whimsical décor, beautiful antiques, and modern necessities.

The hotel's 34 rooms and four self-catering townhouses are individually designed and furnished. The well-appointed rooms are equipped with luxury bathrobes, Dyson hair dryers and Bramley toiletries.

Canine companions are welcome in one of several dog-friendly rooms.

There is no shortage of cozy corners and squashy sofas in common areas featuring crackling log fires in winter and pretty terraces in Enjoy traditional English tea served in the cozy library. Visit The Tyger Bar for tiki-inspired cocktails and Mediterranean bites in a delightful room where brass monkey lights hang from timbered ceilings. At Abbey Row, you’ll dine under 8,000 hand-painted gold stars. And don’t forget to arrange a visit to our adjacent Abbey House Manor Gardens, where some of our restaurants’ ingredients are grown.

Nestled in the market town of Malmesbury, this South Cotswold destination property is conveniently located adjacent to the town in the South Cotswolds. The hotel sits adjacent to the 12th Century Abbey, one of the oldest and most important religious sites in England. It’s also a short walk to the famous Abbey House Manor Gardens. This sister property is currently undergoing renovations, but gardens can be toured by groups with prior arrangements Master rooms, Junior Master, Classic, Character, Master Cosy and Cosy rooms are available.
