About

Visit Butterfly World and experience the tropics of Wiltshire, rain or shine, Summer or Winter. Discover an enchanting world of beautiful butterflies, fish filled ponds, amazing bugs, and phenomenal tropical flowers. Hunt the caterpillars and see the butterflies emerging from their pupa, creating a wondrous world of vibrant colours!

As you explore our Zoo you will see our inquisitive mob of Meerkats say hello to our resident Raccoon Rigby and Tarka and Sophia our Asian Small Clawed Otters, check out our animal feeding times to get up close and learn about these wonderful animals. You will see bouncing wallabies and skunks as well as a few more unusual creatures. For those brave enough there is the reptile house too. Beyond in the Farm Park there are a variety of farm animals to visit, with trailer rides (seasonal) and animal handling on offer when available. We are dedicated to showcasing and promoting learning down on the farm, lots to see and do throughout the day.

Take a break at lunch time in our fully air-conditioned Garden Restaurant serving hot meals daily, huge selection of cakes, sweet treats and afternoon teas. Or a light bite in our Butterfly Café.

The younger members of the family can play in the fully air-conditioned Softplay. Then take a roam around our garden centre brimming with all your gardening needs.

Both the Garden Restaurant and Soft Play have air conditioning and a fresh air make up system installed.  This means that not only is the facility cool in the Summer and warm in the Winter, but the air regularly changed in the building to ensure it remains fresh and reduces the risk of covid spreading.
