International arrivals have a choice of six main airports in and around London alone. You’ll find these listed under the international travel tab, alongside all the international airports in the south west.
Heathrow Airport is particularly convenient for the Great West Way, thanks to the Heathrow Express that transports you from the airport direct to Paddington Station, where your adventure west begins. However all London airports have simple connections to central London via tube, train, bus, coach, taxi and more.
Fun fact: The emotional opening and closing scenes of Love Actually, starring Hugh Grant and Colin Firth, were filmed in the arrivals lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4.
At the other end of the touring route, Bristol Airport is a hub for arrivals from across the UK and mainland Europe. It’s also useful for onward connections to the USA and Canada via Ireland and other European cities.
