About

The REME Museum displays the proud history of the Corps of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. Wherever in the world the Army serves, there you will find REME. The Museum’s unique collection includes an extensive weapons display, historic repair and recovery vehicles, uniforms, medals, tools and test equipment. The collection is enhanced by interactive and immersive displays and enables the visitor to experience how REME uses its resourcefulness and ingenuity to keep the Army’s battle-winning equipment in the hands of the user.

Based in Lyneham, Wiltshire, the Museum will be running a programme of temporary exhibits to sit alongside our main collection. There will be a range of events for all ages to get involved with and an onsite café which is open to anyone to come and visit.

At the Museum we aim to provide an information source for members of the Corps, the public, researchers and educationalists. The documentary, pictorial and technical archives we have in Lyneham are accessible to all groups on request. We welcome schools and educational establishments to the Museum and have an educational programme which adapts to fit the current curriculum.

There is plenty of onsite car & coach parking and we have disabled parking next to our main entrance. The museum is not within the camp’s security perimeter; no ID is required to enter the museum.
