Parade House is a beautiful Grade 1 Listed Georgian townhouse built in 1720 of national and local importance situated in the historic centre of Trowbridge, County Town of Wiltshire, and with easy access from London, Stonehenge and Bath.
Built in the classical style, it features beautiful fine rooms with high ornate ceilings, chandeliers and marble fireplaces, all furnished with antiques, a grand original carved staircase, an elegant first floor Ballroom, and it is thought that Jane Austen herself would have visited Parade House on her way to Bath. There is also a stylish Bar and luxury Cinema in the historic vaults.
Visitors are treated to a unique Bridgerton style experience. They are welcomed by the owners themselves, and given a personal history tour of all the fine rooms.
Then they are swept upstairs to an elegant Full Afternoon Cream Tea in the Ballroom, all served on English Vintage china, with silver cutlery and fine linen. The menu consists of freshly baked cakes, delicious finger sandwiches, scones with local clotted cream and strawberry jam, fine teas and coffee and for an extra cost if required, a glass of champagne or Gin Fizz.
Towards the end of the Tea, visitors are treated to Regency dance performances in costume by the celebrated Jane Austen Dancers of Bath, and they are invited to join in and learn a few steps if they so wish.
This is a truly memorable British Bridgerton style experience that has proved extremely popular for both private and public groups of all nationalities.
Parade House can also offer a Lunch or Dinner with house history tours and Regency dance performances as an alternative to a Cream Tea. Please enquire directly.
