About

Marlborough College Summer School is a unique multigenerational learning experience welcoming FIT and solo travellers, U3A, WI and special interest groups, friends and families alike.

Whether you wish to learn a new skill or indulge in a favourite pastime, the programme of over 500 courses will leave you truly spoilt for choice. All courses run from Monday to Friday and last for either five full or five half days, giving you the opportunity to enjoy up to two different courses each week. The eclectic range of subjects encompass the creative arts, history and culture, landscape and architecture, body and mind, science and computing, life skills, country pursuits and sport.

There is also an extensive entertainment programme featuring lectures, film nights, evening excursions, recitals and outstanding Gala Performances every Tuesday and Friday evening.

With so much going on, many guests opt to take advantage of Marlborough’s onsite accommodation package, which includes full board, free admittance to all entertainment and use of the College’s state-of-the art sports and leisure facilities. The College’s historic grounds are also conveniently located to enjoy Marlborough’s famous high street and the beautiful Wiltshire countryside.

ENTERTAINMENT

From concerts and recitals to lectures and film nights, Summer School hosts a wide range of entertainment available to guests and the general public.

All entertainments are included in the room price, but residents must reserve their free tickets for the Gala Performances in advance.

Min group size: No minimum.  We don’t charge a single supplement.

Duration of visit: You can attend Summer School from Monday to Friday as a day student or make your experience truly immersive and stay with us throughout. Full board accommodation is available from Sunday afternoon until the following Saturday morning.

All courses take place over five days. Some courses run for five full days, but most run over five half days, either in the mornings or afternoons. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy up to two different courses each week. Alternatively, you may wish to choose just one course and spend the other half of your days relaxing, walking or sightseeing, for instance.

We cannot accommodate young people under the age of 18 without an accompanying parent or guardian.
