We caught up with Sharon Thomas from Corsham Town Council to talk about how well the traditional market town of Corsham fits with the Great West Way. Watch the video or read on to find out what she had to say...
"We like to think of Corsham as the quintessential English market town. This is very traditional, but with slightly quirky twists.
"We've got loads of independent shops in amazing old buildings. We've got really modern things surrounded by all this fantastic architecture. We've got Corsham Court just across the road. We've got this real mix of the modern and the historic, and lots of heritage.
"One of the main reasons people like to visit Corsham is because back in 2014 we had a starring role in Poldark. Captain Poldark walked along these streets and it was really exciting to see the filming take place.
"We're part of an area of the Great West way that links up with Lacock (where they filmed Harry Potter) – and Wolf Hall and more Poldark were filmed at Great Chalfield Manor. It's such a historic route, it's not surprising that so much filming has taken place here over the years."
