Part of the Windsor Estate, Windsor Great Park is an ancient Royal landscape of forests, grasslands, lakes and gardens.

Visit and you will discover 1,000 years of history including historical monuments, rare wildlife and National Collections of plants and Champion Trees

Spanning over 4,800 acres and open daily, highlights of Windsor Great Park include: 

The Long Walk; a tree-line avenue that stretches almost 2.5 miles to the ancient fortress of Windsor Castle. At the highest point is the Copper Horse statue depicting King George III 

The Deer Park; home not only to one of the largest populations of ancient oak trees in northern Europe, but also around 500 Red Deer 

The Savill Garden; a 35-acre haven of gardens, woodland and seasonal displays. 

Virginia Water; this 2-mile long lake is surrounded by woodland shores and historic monuments 

Valley Gardens; 250-acres of undulating valleys, filled with international azaleas, magnolias and rhododendron

Children (5 – 15 years, must be accompanied by an adult) - £6.50 when booked online in advance, £8 when purchased on the day at the ticket desk

Carer (16 + years, supporting documents required) - Free

Public Transport Directions

By rail: the nearest rail stations are located at Egham, Windsor and Virginia Water. A taxi will be required to complete your journey.

By bicycle: the National Cycle Route 4 passes through Windsor Great Park, and there is an extensive network of roads and tracks along which cycling is permitted.

By bus: The No. 01 White Bus Service runs from Windsor to Ascot through Windsor Great Park on Monday to Saturday. Further details can be found on The White Bus Service website.
