Cobbs Farm Shop & Kitchen is open seven days a week. In their farm shop, you will find a traditional butchery counter, a fully licensed café, delicatessen, fishmongers, florists and bespoke indoor wooden Play Barn. At the heart of Cobbs is their 55 acre farm, open for seasonal Pick Your Own and also the home to their award-winning vineyard, Alder Ridge.
The farm shop puts seasonal produce on it’s shelf within minutes of being picked. From farm to shop with zero food miles. They work closely with a large number of individual local producers to offer customers a whole host of products from store cupboard essentials, including freshly baked bread, local cheese, honey and homemade quiche to more luxurious items like their own home-grown award winning sparkling wine.
You will also find a traditional butchery counter with master butchers on hand to cater for all your needs. The core focus of the counter is quality and provenance; they source their meat from local farms, whose standards of welfare and attention to detail match their own exacting standards. There is a Dry-aging room at Cobbs where they allow their beef to condition for up to 28 days to improve its eating quality and flavour.
There’s also a fantastic florist and fishmonger on site too.
The fully licensed café at Cobbs has a seasonal menu of tasty home-made and locally sourced food. You can find everything from light bites, to Sunday roasts and homemade cakes to tempt you with. When the weather is fine, there is no nicer place to be than on the attractive garden terrace with a clear view of the children’s play area. Equally, when the weather is being typically British you can sit down cosily inside next to their log burner with a Cobbs speciality coffee.
In 2015 the exciting new addition of an indoor Play Barn was added to the site. This bespoke, wooden indoor play space is a great educational, engaging and fun environment for children and parents. They have taken the essence of their main farm shop and café and promote their core values through a healthy and nutritious menu.
