There are some really big, world-famous attractions along the Great West Way you may already know about. Stonehenge ring any bells? Windsor Castle? The Roman Baths?

Visiting these mega attractions, as well as the magnificent ancient abbeys and cathedrals along the Great West Way, can give you an insight into thousands of years of English history. You can find out about the wild partying habits of ancient Britons and the scandalous dinner parties of 20th century aristocrats. Discover the incredible stories surrounding prehistoric long barrows and uncover the mysteries of Wiltshire’s white horses.

And don’t forget all the stately homes, mansions and manors along the way - many of them still lived in today - that also offer an enriching day out just like Bowood House. Just be sure to top off the experience with a cream tea in the café afterwards (let’s call it an English tradition).

It’s not all history, history, history though. Along the Great West Way there’s tourist attractions of all genres. Wildlife parks like Longleat, zoos and water parks, immersive museums such as the Fashion Museum and interactive art galleries, arboretums, nature reserves, pleasure gardens and much, much more.
