About

Trade Product Information and Experiences:

Waddesdon, a unique French Renaissance-style château, was built in the 1870s by Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild to house his art treasures and entertain fashionable society. Opened in 1959 and managed by the Rothschild Foundation, a family charitable trust, it’s home to the Rothschild Collections of paintings, sculpture and decorative arts. Outside, formal Victorian gardens and rolling parkland can be enjoyed year-round with spectacular seasonal displays, sweeping landscapes and the ornate Rococo-style Aviary, a registered zoo that takes part in important conservation breeding projects.

Groups can enjoy a wide range of experiences at Waddesdon Manor such as a visit to the beautiful Manor with its many art treasures, the landscaped gardens with their abundance of seasonal flowers. Why not include a visit to the spectacular Wedding Cake, a twelve-meter-tall sculptural pavilion created by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos.

There are many catering options available such as lunches, afternoon or cream teas at the Manor Restaurant. The Stables café and the Coffee Bar provide snacks throughout the day.

Waddesdon is famed for its wine and wine tasting can be arranged with the Waddesdon Wine Team taking the group through the history of wine production followed by a tasting session.

The Aviary is filled with colourful and exotic birds, many of the species kept at Waddesdon are rare and endangered and part of an important conservation breeding programme.

The Five Arrows Hotel, located at the gates of Waddesdon Manor is a grade II listed boutique hotel with 16 contemporary bedrooms and a modern 2AA rosette bar and restaurant.

Throughout the year, a wide range of events take place at Waddesdon such as exhibitions, outdoor events such as the Chilli Fest and the famous Christmas light trails, Christmas market and the Manor decorated in a festive splendour.
