We are proud to say that our hotel, thanks to the hard work of the team, that we have recently won the Trip Advisor Travellers Choice Award 2022 and Kayak Award 2022.
Our hotel is the only full service hotel located in the historical town centre of Newbury and within walking distance of the many shops, bars and restaurants. The Chequers Hotel is a Grade II listed, 18th century Coaching Inn, beautifully renovated with modern, bespoke interiors. Far removed from its Coaching Inn past, The Chequer's now provides excellent hotel accommodation and delicious dining; with its own in house restaurant - The Smoke House.

Exit M4 (J13) and take the A34 to Newbury. Keep in the left hand lane and take the A339 to Newbury. Go straight over the roundabout at Vodafone HQ. At the next roundabout, turn right to the town centre. Go over one mini roundabout, at the next mini roundabout you will see the clock tower. Turn right and the hotel is situated on the right. Car park is through the coaching arch.
